This is an Interview of Greg Weir, Managing Director of Australian Choice Timber Services Pty Ltd and Enviro-Forests Solutions Pty Ltd conducted by William MacLean, Chairman of Directors, Enviro-Forests Solutions Pty Ltd on 30th September 2007. These questions where asked as the new Kiln Drying operation was about to start at Mordialloc in Victoria and where along the following lines. How long is it now that you have been associated with the Timber Industry? Who will benefit most from listening to this interview? Who were your most influential Mentors that had an impact on you? What specific incident inspired you to take the direction you now have within the Timber Industry, ie. Solar Kiln Design? What helped you identify the benefits of Cyclic Drying? How many Kilns have you built over the past 10 years, as you have developed better methods of overcoming some of the initial design problems? What seemed to be the biggest hurdle to overcome in the development process? What do you see as the greatest benefits that this new technology will bring to the Timber Drying Industry? Now research has been going on since 1992 to perfect this methodology. What have you done that has separated you from the other researchers and developers? Is it correct that you have secured world-wide patents on the many processes that are used to produce these remarkable results that no other method has done so until now, which the Enviro-Forests Solutions Limited project will demonstrate at a commercial level? Is it true that you will be undertaking further research in association with an Australian University? What details can you tell us about that? I understand that the United Nations has also got involved with a pilot project in Fiji, which uses this new technology in a unique manner. What can you tell us about that? Green House Gases are the big issue in the environment discussion that wants to ensure an enduring planet for us and our children, and our children's child, etc to live on here at planet earth. How will this project help start new practises in the Timber Industry that Environmentalists will be pleased to hear?
